Makani is dealing with a new school, a love interest, and living with her grandma. On top of all that there is a killer in Osborne. One by one students are found dead. Makani and her friends try their best to stay safe and also try to figure out the killer and their next victims.

I didn’t love this book, but I thought it was pretty good. I was interested in it and it kept me wanting to read until the end. However, it didn’t give me that “I’m hanging on by the edge of my seat” thrill. Especially towards the end, I almost got a Scooby Doo vibe, probably because they are high school kids. I think it was never too realistic having high school figure out the killer and his motives. That is where it fell a bit flat for me. I didn’t expect to find out who the killer was as early as we did in the novel. I was a bit surprised by that. Ollie and Chris were really cute characters. I liked seeing how much they care for the people in their lives. One other part of the novel I liked was that is was in third person so we got the victims story when we were away from Ollie and Makani. Overall, it was a decent book, definitely better than some I’ve read lately.
